Doug Wilson
Senior Advisor / Managing Broker, Sperry Van NessDoug Wilson serves as a Managing Member for Ovation's Ohio Investment platform and has been the procuring broker for two properties thus far.
Mr. Wilson serves as managing director and a senior investment advisor for Sperry Van Ness / Horizons LLC, specializing in the sale of multifamily properties in Ohio. His responsibilities also include brokerage management, including recruiting, training and corporate advertising.
Wilson’s extensive career in commercial real estate began in 1988. His diverse experience includes sales, leasing, team management, and property management.
Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Wilson served as vice president of brokerage services at Horizons Real Estate Group where he was instrumental in the expansion of the company’s private and instructional client base. Previously, he worked as the Ohio regional manager for Marcus & Millichap where he was involved in the ramp-up and supervision of the Columbus and Cincinnati offices, comprising 17 agents and approximately $100 million of privately owned client brokerage listing portfolios. In addition, Wilson has also served as senior marketing manager for CB Richard Ellis, specializing in the sale and leasing of commercial properties owned by institutional clients including: insurance companies, pension funds and bank REO departments, as well as private owners. His marketing activities included preparation of marketing and lease surveys and property management budgets.
Wilson is a member of Columbus Commercial, Industrial and Investment Realtors, Columbus Board of Realtors, Ohio Association of Realtors, and National Association of Realtors. He was awarded the Business First Top 15 in Commercial Real Estate Sales.
John Gelhaus
Senior Advisor, Sperry Van NessJohn R. Gelhaus, Sr., serves as one of the managing members for Ovation's Ohio apartment portfolio overseeing the critical property management function for our two investments in that market.
Mr. Gelhaus is a licensed real estate broker and Certified Property Manager (CPM®), combines property management expertise with a spirit of entrepreneurship to manage a 2500 unit apartment portfolio.
While serving as founder and president of his own company for six years, Mr. Gelhaus developed an uncompromising philosophy toward customer service. His convictions, combined with a distinctive leadership style and hands-on administrative experience carry over to the corporate mission developed at Horizons Real Estate Group, Inc.
Mr. Gelhaus is sensitive to the need for precise and timely financial reports; as a computer-programming specialist, he has designed customer accounting software packages.
Involved in property management for over twenty-two years, John Gelhaus, Sr. spent the first six years exclusively within the multi-family market, after which he broadened into the commercial and industrial market.
As a CPM®, active in the local chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management, he is in active communications with all levels of property management professionals.
Mr. Gelhaus graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Computer Programming Technology and Business Administration.
